What is the working range?

Standard range is approximately 98 ft, with detection possible up to 150 ft under ideal conditions. Performance depends on the reflective background, viewing angle, gas plume, and environmental conditions. Tell us your typical working distance so we can review the application.

What does ELLI measure?

ELLI measures methane along the laser path, reported in ppm·m. Its stated measurement range is 0–50,000 ppm·m. The reading combines methane concentration with the length of the gas plume crossed by the beam. View manufacturer specifications.

Does ELLI detect propane or other gases?

ELLI is selective for methane (CH₄). If you need propane, LPG or another gas detected, tell us which gas and application you have so we can discuss the appropriate equipment.

What applications is ELLI designed for?

ELLI can be used to remotely screen methane around natural gas infrastructure, valves, meters, regulators, pipelines, landfill gas equipment, RNG and biogas systems, and other methane-containing equipment where a suitable line of sight is available.

Can ELLI help locate methane leaks without getting close to the equipment?

Yes. ELLI uses laser-based methane detection to inspect from a distance when there is a suitable reflective background behind the target area. This can be useful for elevated, fenced-off or difficult-to-access equipment.

Can we demo ELLI before purchasing?

Yes. Qualified customers can request an ELLI evaluation unit for up to 14 days to test at their facility. If you prefer, we can also arrange for an ELLI specialist to visit your facility for a short on-site demonstration and walk your team through the instrument. Use the form on this page to request a demo, evaluation, or formal quote.

Can we use ELLI for our required inspection method?

Tell us the inspection procedure and acceptance criteria your team follows, including any LDAR or landfill monitoring requirements. We’ll review the application before recommending ELLI for that work.
